I'm looking for a database firewall for mysql. Features of greenSQL seems great, but is there a way to use GreenSQL with MySQL on a Windows platform (maybe by building the source code) ? If not, have you planned to allow it ?
The current version will not be supported in any windows based operating system, for the meanwhile I will suggest you to use a very reasonable work around.
Virtualbox (www.virtualbox.org) is a free powerful virtualization product which you can install over windows safely, after you install Virtualbox, you can install any guest operating system over the windows, so you can install CentOS, Ubuntu server or any linux flavor you prefer.
The linux operating system should be installed with that bare minimum, when you should limit the guest operating system to 512 Mb memory or even 256 Mb memory, at the networking option, select Bridge instead of NAT, At this guest linux machine, you should install GreenSQL using the HowTO's in out site. .
After the Installation you can easily forward any SQL traffic to the virtual machine IP address and at the GreenSQL console define to which IP address the traffic should be forwarded (Backend, probably to the windows IP address in this case).
