Install and Upgrade failures for 1.2

in

System Ubuntu 8.04.3 in question. This system was running 1.0 without an issue and it will reinstall without an issue with the greensql-fw-1.0.0_i386.deb when trying to upgrade to 1.2.1 with greensql-fw_1.2.1_i386.deb the installation fails with:

/var/lib/dpkg/info/greensql-fw.postinst: 624: cannot create /usr/share/greensql-fw/config.php: Directory nonexistent
dpkg: error processing greensql-fw (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
greensql-fw

I have tried both an upgrade and a clean install. I have even manually created the directory /usr/share/greensqlfw/ and it still comes up with the same error. When the installation fails the directory is no longer there.

This is a firewall install only. The console/web interface sit on a different system.

Hello

I have fixed this bug and release updated packages available at the download page. Application version was not changed. Please check if it works for you.

I just tried it both as an upgrade and a fresh install and I get the same error. It doesn't seem to want to do an install for only the firewall.

Can you just try to install

Can you just try to install the full package (management and console together) and then disable firewall on the management box ?

This is an external facing system, I would prefer not to have the management system installed on the system. That is why I posted that the management console was on a separate system. Later this week I can try to find time to build a new testing box and install the full package for further testing.

It seems in the package if you pick firewall only it wants to continue with the install of the console also. And this is where it is failing.

Yes, I got you. I just

Yes, I got you.

I just wanted to point that you can install full greensql-fw package on the management box and then disable db firewall on that box.

Another option is to copy /usr/share/greensql-fw/ directory contents from the server where greensql-fw is installed and copy it to your management box. For example to /var/www/green directory. You will need to update configuration settings in config.php script.

Best regards,
Yuli
